Review: Iron Man 2: Official Soundtrack (OST)

The sequel to the popular action film Iron
Man is set to invade theaters on April 16th. Along with it comes a very interesting soundtrack album. Interesting,
because it consists entirely of music by AC/DC. The first soundtrack was made up largely of instrumental music, with the exception
of a couple rock tracks. Fifteen tracks by the Aussie rockers are collected here, and they span both the Bon Scott & Brian
Johnson eras. It is a mixture of both classics and lesser-known songs. I can definitely see
fist-pumping anthems such as “Shoot to Thrill” “Back in Black” and “Highway to Hell” translating
well to the onscreen action. AC/DC are one of the few rock bands that have never released a greatest hits compilation. This
soundtrack doesn’t come close if that’s what you are looking for, as it is missing legendary tracks such as “You
Shook Me All Night Long”, “For those about to Rock”, and “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”.
The powerful music contained here is sure to match the non-stop onscreen action. The hype surrounding this sequel makes
it seem as though it will surpass the excellent original film. We will see…the First Iron man was an amazing movie.
One more music question…why hasn’t Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” been used on either of the soundtracks?
