Uncle Hasbro has just done us fans another solid. Let me explain. Recently, because of the economic downturn combined with the Star Wars collector base shrinking, there was an overabundance of Star Wars Saga Legends figures just clogging up space in Hasbro’s warehouses (and on store shelves, if you hadn’t noticed). So, in order to help move some inventory, Hasbro offered three free figures with every purchase of certain role playing toys. The new offer consists of this: Purchase $25 dollars worth of Star Wars merchandise (pre-tax) of any of the following categories and you will receive a free Captain Rex Helmet or a Dual Action Lightsaber.

Now, the Captain Rex helmet typically runs about $30, whereas the lightsaber is $20-30 bucks, depending on where you purchase it.  Look at the positives here:  You wind up with a free toy that you can give as a gift to some kid you know.  Maybe you’ve been holding out on getting the Captain Rex helmet for yourself.  Now here’s a chance to get one for free. 

You can always donate the toy to organizations such as Toys for Tots.  You can check off one item off your Christmas shopping list.  It’s a pretty sweet deal if you think about it.  You don’t even have to pay a shipping fee.  Also, there is no limit.  No ‘limit one offer per household’ rule.  Still don’t believe good old Honest Abe?
